The Magma Pickaxe is one of the best mid-game pickaxes in The Forge, especially if you’re trying to boost your mining speed and get through higher-tier rocks faster like the volcanic rock which has an average of 4500HP. Here’s a simple walkthrough showing you exactly how to get it, where to find it, and whether it’s worth the price.

1. Head to the Volcano Region

To get the Magma Pickaxe, you’ll need to reach the Volcano area, which can be found in the Forgotten Kingdom.
If you’ve never been here before, expect stronger mobs and harder rock types, but this is where all the good mining begins.

2. Find the Magma Pickaxe Shop NPC

Inside the Volcano area, follow the main lava path(hug the right wall when you enter cave) until you reach a small structure built into the rock.
There’s an NPC here that sells the pickaxe directly — no quest, no key, nothing extra required.

This makes the Magma Pickaxe one of the easier upgrades to get… as long as you have the money.

3. Buy the Magma Pickaxe

The pickaxe costs $150,000:

So make sure you’ve saved up a bit before coming here.

What these actually mean:

Mine Power 140 → Breaks rocks way faster than Arcane.

Mine Speed 12 → Faster swing rate = smoother mining.

30 Luck → Not massive, but still helps with rare drops.

2 Rune Slots → Enough to give it a meaningful upgrade for mid-game.

If you compare this to the Arcane Pickaxe, Magma is simply faster and stronger, but Arcane has more luck and more rune slots.
It depends on your playstyle — speed vs. luck.

Is the Magma Pickaxe Worth It?

Short answer: Yes — if your goal is speed.
