TUBES

TUBES

Intro

Tubes are the most critical piece of survival equipment in Abyss. They function as both your oxygen tank and your backpack. Upgrading your tube is essential to exploring deeper biomes and carrying more fish back to the surface.

How Tubes Work

Every tube has four core stats that determine your survival and efficiency in the deep:

Oxygen Capacity (O2):

This represents your total air supply, visible in the bottom-left corner of the screen.

    • Low Oxygen: If your supply drops below 10, your swimming speed decreases significantly.
    • Death: If you run out of oxygen completely, you will die and lose your catch. You will also lose 25% of your fish and 5% of your total cash.
    • Recharge: You can instantly refill your oxygen by swimming inside an Air Bubble.

Max Depth:

Every tube has a pressure limit.

    • Safe Zone: As long as you stay above your max depth, you consume oxygen at a normal rate.
    • Danger Zone: If you swim deeper than your tube's limit, your oxygen will drain extremely fast.

Swimming Speed:

This determines how fast you move through the water.

    • Efficiency: Higher-tier tubes, like the Pufferfish Tube, increase your movement speed (e.g., 22/s), allowing you to return to air bubbles faster or escape dangerous biomes more easily.

Weight Capacity:

This is your inventory space.

    • Inventory Limit: Every fish you catch adds weight to your character; exceeding this limit will slow your movement and prevent you from catching more fish until you sell your haul.
