For any explorer venturing into the depths of Abyss, Star Shards are your most valuable resource for customizing your character and unlocking your true potential. Unlike standard currency, these shards act as the game's premium currency, but they remain accessible to dedicated players through exploration and skill.

Star Shards are primarily used to reroll your Race—a crucial mechanic for fine-tuning your gameplay.

How to Get Star Shards

Star Shards are the premium currency of Abyss, used primarily for rerolling your Race. While they can be rare, there are several reliable ways to farm them for free through consistent gameplay.

1. Daily Login Rewards

The most consistent way to stack shards is by logging in every day. The rewards reset every 24 hours and increase as you progress through the week.

2. Filling the Bestiary

Every time you catch a new species of fish, it is documented in your Bestiary.

  • Discovery Rewards: Claiming rewards for new entries is one of the fastest ways to earn shards in the early game.

3. Completing Quests & Achievements

Keep an eye on your Tracked Quests on the right side of the screen.

  • Main & Side Quests: Many NPC quests reward Star Shards upon completion.
  • Achievements: Reaching specific milestones (like depth records or total fish caught) will grant you a one-time shard bonus.

4. Treasure Hunting

While exploring biomes like the Forgotten Deep or Ancient Sands, look for hidden treasure chests.

  • Chest Loot: Shards have a chance to drop from chests found tucked away in caves or behind underwater structures.

While a Standard Reroll only costs 100 Shards, it is often better to save up 450 Shards for a Lucky Reroll to significantly increase your chances of landing a Mythic or Exotic race.
